‘Forward Motion’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Since completing 1994’s ‘Introduction’, Fred Hersch fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Fred Hersch on ‘Introduction’. Exciting stuff.
Heartsong - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Fred Hersch has astounded me with this amazing track. There is perfect mix of music in Tango Bittersweet. Child’s Song is a good listen every once in a while. Janeology is the first taste of the new album. I hope to keep hearing Fred Hersch works for a long time to come. Lullabye good vocals. Fred Hersch has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Professor K. - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Musically Foreward Motion is superior to other tracks in Forward Motion. …Departed… - I like this one. Some call Frevo from Forward Motion as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Nostalgia is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction.
