It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Fred Hersch energies, virtually a rebirth. Live at Maybeck Recital Hall, Vol. 31 touched my soul like nothing else.
Fred Hersch sings his heart out in Haunted Heart. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. I like You Don’t Know What Love Is because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. If I Loved You is pretty funky and mellow. Heartsong is a marvelous sing-along. Everything I Love - another great track from the Live at Maybeck Recital Hall, Vol. 31 album. Sarabande is just simply stunning. The Song Is You is the most memorable and perfect. Ramblin’ is a very catchy tune. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Body And Soul from the beginning to the end.
