Self-described as Latin with lots of words, Gal Costa comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. This -song debut EP shows the promise that Gal Costa has. It has been four years Gal Costa’ last studio CD, “Mina D’Agua Do Meu Canto” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. One of Gal Costa’s best albums yet.
Charming song, great melody. I like the agression and power of Morena Dos Olhos d’Agua. Como Um Samba de Adeus is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Caju was the first single release from the album Mina D’Agua Do Meu Canto. Gal Costa sings Milagres Do Povo in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. O Ci had me crying as I was able to relate so well. O Quereres - For me, this is the best of the album. So much energy, so exciting a sound.After about the third As Vitrines listen through, I began to believe this song is Gal Costa’s essence. Within the first few notes of Quem Te Viu, Quem Te V it’s perfectly clear that Gal Costa is living this song. Gal Costa emotions are reflected through Futuros Amantes. Samba Do Grande Amor is another strong production from Gal Costa. Lindeza is the song that really did it for me. Desalento - Gal Costa first major hit. Pelos Olhos - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Such hits like Lingua will leave you hooked.
