Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Gene Clark & Carla Olson on ‘Your Fire Burning’. Silhouetted in Light isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. For older fans Silhouetted in Light will put a massive smile accross your face. This is what good Country should be.
Number One Is To Survive is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Silhouetted in Light have ended. Love Wins Again is probably the highlight of the album. Vocals of Gene Clark & Carla Olson in Fair And Tender Ladies really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Gene Clark & Carla Olson sings his heart out in Photograph. Set You Free This Time is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Last Thing On My Mind is absolutely incredible. I like the idea behind Gypsy Rider. Train Leaves Here This Morning is the albums biggest surprise. Almost Saturday Night is one of the more up-tempo songs on Silhouetted in Light. Del Gato gives good insight into the truths. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Silhouetted in Light. Music and lyrics of She Don’t Care About Time creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. So much energy, so exciting a sound. Will The Circle Be Unbroken? is probably one of Gene Clark & Carla Olson’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to.
