On The Dance of Joy album, Giora Feidman have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Giora Feidman. It’s natural for Giora Feidman to take a stab at ‘Ani Ole L’Yerushalim/Pilgrim..’ considering her long-professed love for U2. Overall, I would highly recommend The Dance of Joy CD.
Rue de Bac is a medium tempo tune. Forget the Tears, It’s Beaut.. is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Simple and heartfelt closing track If I Were a Rich Man closes The Dance of Joy on a high note. Chassidic Dance - arguably the best track on The Dance of Joy album. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Yankelle (3:01) a good melody. Somebody Lives Me is the perfect blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. The Dance of Fire - For me, this is the best of the album. Song for the Earth - Giora Feidman first major hit. Strong, powerful vocals of Giora Feidman in Dance of Joy are very impressive. I was truly moved when I heard The Wedding Waltz. I believe Shpiel Zhe Mir a Liedele is one of the most exquisite, heartfelt songs ever written. L’Chaim is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. The opening track Song for Two is very much like you would expect from other albums. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with The Freilach Dance. One listen to the sheer beauty of Rue de Bac (Encore) was all I needed.
