There is no doubt that Govi has talent. Now signed to Govi’s SixSteps records, the title track from second album “Cuchama” leads Govi’s back-to-school campaign. Govi was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Govi and Cuchama together. Cuchama is the best essence of Govi.
In Child’s Play it becomes nowhere more obvious that Govi has yet to define own style. Album opener Spirit Rider is a bright, upbeat ditty. Torero is the first taste of the new album. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Hanalei Bay. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Sangria, which shows, blatantly, how much Govi has evolved as a singer. Govi sings his heart out in Inner Sky. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing.
