Guru Guru’s debut, ‘Terra Amphibia 1′, does not fit easily into one genre. On the Ireland charts, superstar Guru Guru’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. I am not a real Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Terra Amphibia 1′ really is amazing. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Get Terra Amphibia 1 and turn on Sararara if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Anapurna Moon is a strong cut, one of many. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Where Is The Tiger. After about the third Lhasa Pakho listen through, I began to believe this song is Guru Guru’s essence. Call The Night is simple, dignified and effective, Guru Guru refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Twilight is one of the best records ever. Guru Guru sings Jungle Party in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. I love the melodic melody of Finkenbach and to this day it makes me feel good.
