It’s natural for Harold Budd and Daniel Lentz and Jessica Karraker to take a stab at ‘Radiant Opal’ considering her long-professed love for Ultra Dolphins. On Walk Into My Voice Materiali Sonori album, Harold Budd and Daniel Lentz and Jessica Karraker have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This album has some very good songs like Radiant Opal and Becoming Visible. Such great and happy songs.
Becoming Visible is a fine track on any terms. From the moment you listen to Beyond This Veil Of Crystal Rails you’re hooked. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Interlude 1 is pretty funky and mellow. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Kiss is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Revelation, which shows, blatantly, how much Harold Budd and Daniel Lentz and Jessica Karraker has evolved as a singer. Blew our minds when we first heard Note. Sparrow is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Interlude 2 is a bit of a show-tune. Do I Not Deal With Angels is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Be Music, Night is probably the most interesting track on Walk Into My Voice Materiali Sonori. The Sea Is Awash With Roses had me crying as I was able to relate so well. This Room Has Mystery Like A Trance as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Fall Of The Evening Star is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Beautiful You Are catches attention immediately, Vocals of Harold Budd and Daniel Lentz and Jessica Karraker in Interlude 3 really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Neon Thunder Dreams is absolutely incredible. Interlude 4 has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Cancion is a strong cut, one of many. Talk In The Dark - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Post Card is one of the best records ever. Interlude 5 to me is the best you can get from Harold Budd and Daniel Lentz and Jessica Karraker. Only one song from Walk Into My Voice Materiali Sonori named Dove Sta Amore really got me. Peacocks Walked (1:12) - awsome. The Wonded Wilderness Of Morris Graves is the funkiest number on the album. Interlude 6 - I just love it. I believe Long Stemmed is one of the most excellent, heartfelt songs ever written. I think Amaryllis is the best song Harold Budd and Daniel Lentz and Jessica Karraker has ever done. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Interlude 7 because the melody in the chorus is so good. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Walk Into My Voice Materiali Sonori. Postlude rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo.
