It has been seven years Harold Budd’ last studio CD, “Glyph” which won Array Academy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Harold Budd. ‘Glyph’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Glyph is the best essence of Harold Budd.
You and Me Against The Sky - I like this one. Voice and instruments in And Then She Stepped Aside complement each other. I think Around The Corner From Everywhere is the best song Harold Budd has ever done. Within the first few notes of Gorgon’s Anxious Pansy it’s perfectly clear that Harold Budd is living this song. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Harold Budd. Reflected In The Eye Of A Dragon Fly is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. As Fast As I Could Look Away She Was Still There is a astounding sing-along. Don’t judge Autre Django on the first listening. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think The Aperture is my favorite song on Glyph. The Light Gave Us Away to me is the best you can get from Harold Budd.
