First time I heard Blue Steel was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing. One listen to the sheer beauty of Brothers Go To Mother’s was all I needed. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Session At Pete’s Pad because the melody in the chorus is so good. Walkin Bass (4:06) - awsome. Get Jazz Sound From Peter Gunn and turn on Dreamsville if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Little Man Theme is a very catchy tune. Sorta Blue - My least favorite song on this album. Goofin At The Coffee House - I just love it. Don’t judge Quiet Gass on the first listening. All of songs on Jazz Sound From Peter Gunn and have something to say letting alone Profound Gass. Henry Mancini allows each song to breathe and flourish. Such hits like Lightly will leave you hooked. Jazz Sound From Peter Gunn couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Soft Sounds. Odd Ball - another great track from the Jazz Sound From Peter Gunn album. Floater is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Blues For Mother’s is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Although Brief & Breezy is very melodic it is far from sad. I came to like Joanna. Spook defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Ball For John is possibly the best song Henry Mancini has come up. Henry Mancini must have run out of lyrics on the next track Not From Dixie.
