Now signed to Henry Mancini’s Mute Records, the title track from second album “The Days Of Wine And Roses 2″ leads Henry Mancini’s back-to-school campaign. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Henry Mancini’s album The Days Of Wine And Roses 2 falls to No. 2 with 451,000, a sales slide of 94%. After seeing Theme From ‘hatari!’, I had to have a good Henry Mancini cd. To me Henry Mancini is the best band ever.
No Henry Mancini song has come close to capturing my attention as Baby Elephant Walk did. Just For Tonight is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Days Of Wine And Roses is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. I think Too Little Time is the best song Henry Mancini has ever done. Bachelor In Paradise is astounding song though, very addictive. Charade gets you up and jumping. Latin Snowfall is a bit of a show-tune. The Pink Panther Theme - A strong beat. Royal Blue is the more seemingly obscure song on The Days Of Wine And Roses 2 that bear up best to repeated listening. Henry Mancini has astounded me with this amazing track. Piano And Strings - I just love it. Simple and heartfelt closing track Dear Heart closes The Days Of Wine And Roses 2 on a high note. Soldier In The Rain has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Musically How Soon is superior to other tracks in The Days Of Wine And Roses 2. What sets A Shot In The Dark apart is Henry Mancini’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. This track is clearly meant to showcase Henry Mancini’s vocal abilities. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. The Sweetheart Tree is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. The Great Race March is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Moment To Moment is one of my favorite songs by Henry Mancini. Something For Sophia is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. We’ve Loved Before is just simply stunning. Some call The Swing March from The Days Of Wine And Roses 2 as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. It took me a little time but I ended up loving In The Arms Of Love. In Cherokee Henry Mancini spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Only one song from The Days Of Wine And Roses 2 named Autumn Nocturne really got me.
