On the France charts, superstar Ian Anderson’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Twelve Dances With God isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. After seeing In A Stone Circle, I had to have a good Ian Anderson cd. This album is in perfect progression from Ian Anderson!
This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Ian Anderson. In The Grip Of Stronger Stuff had me crying as I was able to relate so well. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. It took me a little time but I ended up loving In The Moneylender’s Temple. In Defence Of Faiths is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. At Their Father’s Knee to me is the best you can get from Ian Anderson. En Afrique is pretty funky and mellow. In The Olive Garden is worth the money. I like to sing along with In The Pay Of Spain, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Voice and instruments in In The Times Of India (Bomba.. complement each other.
