sixteen years ago, Inti-Illimani briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Maria Canela”. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Inti-Illimani. It has been sixteen years Inti-Illimani’ last studio CD, “Arriesgare La Piel: I Will Risk My Skin” which won Array Academy Awards� and was nominated for album of the year. I wish that “Arriesgare La Piel: I Will Risk My Skin” album was instrumental.
This track is clearly meant to showcase Inti-Illimani’s vocal abilities. El Hacha is probably the most interesting track on Arriesgare La Piel: I Will Risk My Skin. Entre Nosotros is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. When I listen to Quien Eres Tu in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. In Kalimba Inti-Illimani is at his best. Inti-Illimani allows each song to breathe and flourish. Cumpleacos 80 De Nicanor is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Caramba, Yo Soy Dueco Del Baron stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Kulliacas is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. This track is just a stunning masterpiece.
