This is one of the best Cd’s James Last has dropped to date. Since James Last last CD ((1996) Classics from Russia) on Blue Note Records back in 1996, I have felt a massive void in my life. Lead single “Second Waltz (D. Schostakowits” and “Der verzauberte See (A. Liadow” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. (1996) Classics from Russia constantly brilliant.
The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Scheherazade (N. Rimskij-Korsa is a astounding, simple song by James Last at the top of his game. Andante Variationen #6 (P. Tsc was the first single release from the album (1996) Classics from Russia. Capriccio Espagnol (N. Rimskij is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Lichtertanz (A. Rubinstein) - A classic James Last track. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Eine Steppenskizze (A. Borodin is a song to enjoy for years to come. I like the agression and power of Andante Cantabile (P. Tschaiko. You can find feelings on this piece of art. In Sarabande (A. Liadow) it becomes nowhere more obvious that James Last has yet to define own style. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists.
