Jazz - Various Artists’s debut, ‘Grover Washington, Jr - Jazz Sax’, does not fit easily into one genre. For older fans Grover Washington, Jr - Jazz Sax will put a massive smile accross your face. Jazz - Various Artists was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Jazz - Various Artists and Grover Washington, Jr - Jazz Sax together. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Jazz - Various Artists ever.
This song may be the most meaningful. I find myself hearing bits of Laura (Dexter Gordon) here and there throughout my waking hours. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Grover Washington, Jr - Jazz Sax is Capricious (Gerry Mulligan). Just Enough (Grover Washington, Jr) is astounding. A Flower is a Lovesome Thing (Harry Carney with Duke Ell) - I like this one. Jeep’s Blues (Johnny Hodges with Duke Ellington and his) is another strong production from Jazz - Various Artists. Body and Soul (Paul Gonsalves with Duke Ellington and hi) is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. If you are a Jazz - Various Artists fan, you will love Invitation (Stan Getz).
