I am not a real Jazz music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Stan Getz - Jazz Sax’ really is amazing. For older fans Stan Getz - Jazz Sax will put a massive smile accross your face. Lead single “My Romance (Ben Webster)” and “Lil Rousin (Charlie Rouse)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Lil Rousin (Charlie Rouse) is perfect. I like the agression and power of Laura (Dexter Gordon). Capricious (Gerry Mulligan) the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. A Flower is a Lovesome Thing (Harry Carney with Duke Ell) - Jazz - Various Artists first major hit. Jeep’s Blues (Johnny Hodges with Duke Ellington and his) defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Body and Soul (Paul Gonsalves with Duke Ellington and hi) is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Invitation (Stan Getz).
