There were many famous songs of J.B. Lenoir available. Vietnam Blues isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. There is no doubt that J.B. Lenoir has talent. This is one of J.B. Lenoir best albums
Mojo Boogie marked the continuation of J.B. Lenoir in style evolution. The sound in God’s Word is really warm and J.B. Lenoir’s signature voice is still very much present. The Whale Has Swallowed Me is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Move This Rope have really caught my ear and imagination. I Feel So Good - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Talk To Your Daughter one of the best in my collection. Such hits like Mississippi Road will leave you hooked. One listen to the sheer beauty of Good Advice was all I needed. Vietnam stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. I Want To Go can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what J.B. Lenoir is all about. Down In Mississippi is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Slow Down Woman is outstanding work of J.B. Lenoir. Voice of J.B. Lenoir in If I Get Lucky is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Shot On James Meredith is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Round and Round is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Voodoo Music is my favorite song on Vietnam Blues. After few listenings I started to like Born Dead more and more. Leavin’ Here presents the perfect mix of instruments on Vietnam Blues. The song Vietnam Blues ending is my favorite… so catchy! This song is dynamic and dramatic. So much energy, so exciting a sound.Feelin’ Good is another favourite of mine.
