It’s natural for Jeremy Enigk to take a stab at ‘Fallen Heart’ considering her long-professed love for East 17. Since Jeremy Enigk last CD (Return of the Frog Queen) on EMI Records back in 1996, I have felt a massive void in my life. On Return of the Frog Queen album, Jeremy Enigk have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This album is in perfect progression from Jeremy Enigk!
Carnival is astounding. Listening to Lizard you can hear that Jeremy Enigk has still amazing chemistry with band members. Jeremy Enigk must have run out of lyrics on the next track Lewis Hollow. Return Of The Frog Queen catches attention immediately, Only one song from Return of the Frog Queen named Abegail Anne really got me. Shade And The Black Hat defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Call Me Steam is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. I believe Explain is one of the most perfect, heartfelt songs ever written.
