Jimmy Thackery And The Drivers’s debut, ‘Drive to Survive’, does not fit easily into one genre. ‘Drive to Survive’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that Jimmy Thackery And The Drivers has. Jimmy Thackery And The Drivers is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Overall a nice softer song. That’s How I Feel as a highlight of Drive to Survive contains a ton of excellent melodies. Some call All About My Girl from Drive to Survive as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Cool Guitars is a good listen every once in a while. Slow Down Baby is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. Long, Lean, & Lanky good vocals. Burford’s Bop on Drive to Survive is solid and easy to listen to. Rub On Up has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Jimmy Thackery And The Drivers.
