This is the first studio album from Joe Zawinul since bad diagnosis in 1996. Joe Zawinul’s debut, ‘Stories of the Danube’, does not fit easily into one genre. Joe Zawinul was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Joe Zawinul and Stories of the Danube together. Stories of the Danube is not something you should pass up.
Song Mountain Waters is actually a funny song. Empire is cool work of Joe Zawinul. Intro is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. Listening to Gypsy you can hear that Joe Zawinul has still amazing chemistry with band members. Voice Of The Danube stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Unknown Soldier had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Intro sets the tone for the entire album. Sultan - For me, this is the best of the album. This track is just fantastic from start to finish.
