There is so much to love about John Coltrane, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. On the China charts, superstar John Coltrane’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Self-described as Jazz with lots of words, John Coltrane comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
Be-Bop is just simply stunning. Blues Lagacy has a fun tempo. Centerpiece is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Giant Steps pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Like Sonny is a striking and quite long song. Naima sets the tone for the entire album. Stairway To The Stars is the song that really did it for me. I was truly moved when I heard THe Night We Called It A Day. The Late Late Blues is probably one of John Coltrane’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Three Little Words has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album.
