John Hammond Live is an amazing album, racked with beauty.It’s natural for John Hammond to take a stab at ‘I Wish You Would’ considering her long-professed love for UB40. Self-described as Blues with lots of words, John Hammond comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Overall, I would highly recommend John Hammond Live CD.
Voice and instruments in I Wish You Would (2) complement each other. Cat Man Blues is cool song though, very addictive. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. One Kind Favor one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. I Can’t Be Satisfied has a fun tempo. Dust My Broom is a song to enjoy for years to come. Once you hear Low Down Dog, you will listen to it over and over. Little School Girl - For me, this is the best of the album. Shake For Me on John Hammond Live is solid and easy to listen to. I listened to the opening track Drop Down Mama and liked it a lot. Texas Tornado is outstanding work of John Hammond. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Such hits like Ain’t That Lovin’ You Baby will leave you hooked. No John Hammond song has come close to capturing my attention as Sail On did. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. I was truly moved when I heard Honeymoon Blues. I’m Movin’ On had me crying as I was able to relate so well.
