Lead single “Prologue” and “Very Early” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This is one of the best Cd’s John McLaughlin has dropped to date. Since John McLaughlin last CD (Time Remembered (John McLaughlin Plays Bill Evans)) on Sparrow Records back in 1993, I have felt a massive void in my life. This album is in perfect progression from John McLaughlin!
Very Early is astounding. Music and lyrics of Only Child creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Waltz for Debby is one of my favorite songs by John McLaughlin. I can’t stop playing Homage. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Time Remembered - This one is lively and fun. Strong, powerful vocals of John McLaughlin in Song for Helen are very impressive. John McLaughlin has astounded me with this amazing track. There is perfect mix of music in We Will Meet Again. John McLaughlin has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving.
