John Surman Stranger Than Fiction imageOn Stranger Than Fiction album, John Surman have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This is the first studio album from John Surman since bad diagnosis in 1994. John Surman was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from John Surman and Stranger Than Fiction together. If you want to hear real Jazz, get this record now!

Across The Bridge is gorgeous work of John Surman. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Promising Horizons on Stranger Than Fiction is solid and easy to listen to. A Distant Spring is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. If you are a John Surman fan, you will love Canticle With Response. Triptych (Hidden Orchid Synapsis Paratactic Parths) has a fun tempo. Running Sands is nothing but pure genius.
