On the Singapore charts, superstar Jon Mark and Johnnie Almond’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. This disc has all of the essential Jon Mark and Johnnie Almond classics. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Jon Mark and Johnnie Almond’s album The Best Of Mark Almond falls to No. 2 with 262,000, a sales slide of 61%. This album is awesome.
I find myself hearing bits of Nightmusic here and there throughout my waking hours. When I listen to City Of Dreams in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. In Clowns the music gets its power. Ys Of Pearly Spencer is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Nice and different song. Just A Friend. (4:14) a good melody. Lonely Girl - My least favorite song on this album. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. New York State Of Mind motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Album opener One Way Sunday is a bright, upbeat ditty. Some of the arrangements found on The Best Of Mark Almond are surprisingly edgy. After few listenings I started to like The City more and more. All of songs on The Best Of Mark Almond and have something to say letting alone The Ghetto. What Am I Living For is one of the best records ever. U Look Just Like A Girl Again is another favourite of mine.
