‘Celtic Story’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Celtic Story isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Jon Mark had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Last Hot Album by Jon Mark
Mayday Morning is a fine track on any terms. So Fair A Land is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Celtic Story. Children’s Song is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. I think The Deepwood is the best song Jon Mark has ever done. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. This is one hell of a track. The First Long Boat hits the heart. Song Of The Bard is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Celtic Story have ended. Odin’s Boat is worth the money. A Celtic Story is simple, dignified and effective, Jon Mark refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more.
