This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that Jorge REYES has. Nierika carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Lead single “El Vuelo De Los Ninos Pajaro” and “Venado De Cinco Puntas” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Overall, I would highly recommend Nierika CD.
Venado De Cinco Puntas (4:58) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. El Contador De Historias presents the perfect mix of instruments on Nierika. In Tejido De Suenos (Cola De Venado) the music gets its power. Los Que Se Pintaron La Cara to me is the best you can get from Jorge REYES. Put Danza De Los Peyoteros into car stereo for your highway driving Jorge REYES rocks harder than ever with Donde Nadie Lamenta Lo Que Somos. El Rostro De Los Abuelos is the more seemingly obscure song on Nierika that bear up best to repeated listening. Aguaquemada - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. La Casa Obscura is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Cuatrocientos Hermanos is really a nice song to relax and listen too.
