It has been eleven years Joshua Redman’ last studio CD, “Freedom in the Groove” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Joshua Redman’s debut, ‘Freedom in the Groove’, does not fit easily into one genre. Joshua Redman had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This album is awesome.
Excellent vocals and musical performances. I listened to the opening track Streams Of Consiousness and liked it a lot. When The Sun Comes Down rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Joshua Redman. Invocation presents the amazing mix of instruments on Freedom in the Groove. Dare I Ask is one of these floating songs. Cat Battles - a classic song. Pantomime - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Within the first few notes of Can’t Dance it’s perfectly clear that Joshua Redman is living this song.
