After seeing Mangos Bajitos, I had to have a good Juan Luis Guerra cd. This album has some very good songs like Mangos Bajitos and Farolito. On the Norway charts, superstar Juan Luis Guerra’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Fogarate is Farolito. Pajaritos is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Vivir - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Beso de la Ciguatera - I just love it. Oficio de Enamorado - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Lacrimosa rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. This track is clearly meant to showcase Juan Luis Guerra’s vocal abilities. Canto de Hacha very upbeat. This song is dynamic and dramatic. If you are a Juan Luis Guerra fan, you will love July 19th. Charming song, great melody.
