Stanley Donwood has compared writing for Khadja Nin’s new album to that on ‘Sambolera and Ya pili’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Now signed to Khadja Nin’s Blue Note Records, the title track from second album “Sambolera and Ya pili” leads Khadja Nin’s back-to-school campaign. If I may, I suggest “Sambolera mayi son”. That one song is amazing!
Lyrics of African cooperation are precise and evocative. Umenipa njiya is nothing but pure genius. Music of Que pasa en el mundo is gentle, never overbearing. Excellent vocals and musical performances. M’barik fall (Battling Siki Se is amazing work of Khadja Nin. Fiya liberte one of the best in my collection. La ballade de gilles et shana one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard.
