It has been three years Kool and the Gang’ last studio CD, “Light of Worlds” which won Array Grammy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. While no new Kool and the Gang album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1996 tour in North America. Kool and the Gang was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Kool and the Gang and Light of Worlds together. Light of Worlds constantly brilliant.
Fruitman actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Kool and the Gang’s face. Rhyme Tyme People is the albums biggest surprise. Kool and the Gang has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Whiting H. & G. rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Higher Plane is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. The sound of Here After is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created.
