On The 12 ” Mixes album, Koto have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. On the Canada charts, superstar Koto’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. Lead single “Visitors” and “Jabdah” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. The 12 ” Mixes constantly brilliant.
Jabdah is a very catchy tune. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Japanese War Game (Club Mix) presents the cool mix of instruments on The 12 ” Mixes. Time (Dance Mix) have really caught my ear and imagination. The 12 ” Mixes couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Mind Machine. Chinese Revenge is a gorgeous sing-along. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. It took me a little time but I ended up loving The Koto Mix. The End (Bonus Track) is probably the highlight of the album.
