Lead single “Exotico” and “Cascabeles” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Self-described as Instrumental with lots of words, Lara and Reyes comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. On Exotico album, Lara and Reyes have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This album is awesome.
Cascabeles - For me, this is the best of the album. Despertar is a fine track on any terms. Bahia Del Palmar is pretty funky and mellow. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Lyrics of Morning Rain are precise and evocative. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Lara and Reyes. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Falda De Jade had me crying as I was able to relate so well. There is gorgeous mix of music in Brazil. Opening track Guitarras Ardientes shows the best of Lara and Reyes.
