five years ago, Lester Bowie’s Brass Fantasy briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Think”. This album has some very good songs like I Only Have Eyes For You and Think. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Lester Bowie’s Brass Fantasy on ‘I Only Have Eyes For You’. I Love I Only Have Eyes for You from start to finish!
In Think full palet of sound is used by Lester Bowie’s Brass Fantasy to accentuate the presentation. Lament - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. What sets Coming Back, Jamaica apart is Lester Bowie’s Brass Fantasy’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Nonet gets you up and jumping. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin.
