This album has some very good songs like Rainy Day In Houston and Lonesome Life. While no new Lightnin’ Hopkins album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1996 tour in Asia. There is so much to love about Lightnin’ Hopkins, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This is my first Lightnin’ Hopkins Album and i must say i am blown away.
This song may be the most meaningful. You Just Gotta Miss Me catches attention immediately, From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Lonesome Life. How Does It (2:44) - awsome. Got A Letter This Morning is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Lightnin’ Hopkins released so far. Stinking Foot is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Walking and Walking - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Good As Old Time Religion is another favourite of mine. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Born In The Bottoms from the beginning to the end. Balling The Jack I just LOVE this mix! It’s such an underrated song. If you are a Lightnin’ Hopkins fan, you will love A Man Like Me Is Hard To Find.
