Since completing 1996’s ‘Pilgrimage To Santiago: Txalaparta’, Linda Ronstadt fulfilled their contract with Sparrow Records and where under no obligation to release another album. For older fans Santiago will put a massive smile accross your face. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Linda Ronstadt energies, virtually a rebirth. IT makes me wanna dance!
Pilgrimage To Santiago: Arku-Dantza/Arin-Arin is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Pilgrimage To Santiago: Nao Vas Ao Mar, Toino (Don’t Go To The Sea, Toino) - This one is lively and fun. I like the agression and power of Pilgrimage To Santiago: Dum Paterfamilias/Ad Honorem. Dueling Chanters presents the amazing mix of instruments on Santiago. In Galician Overture Linda Ronstadt is at his best. Guadalupe - I just love it. Overall a nice softer song. Setting Sail/Muineira De Frexido which is my favorite is a truly Linda Ronstadt sounding song. Maneo is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Santiago De Cuba rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. I hope to keep hearing Linda Ronstadt works for a long time to come. Tears Of Stone is probably one of Linda Ronstadt’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Dublin In Vigo without a doubt is the standout song of Santiago.
