Lead single “Volver, Volver (Live)” and “Cuchipe (Cancion Boliviana)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Los Lobos energies, virtually a rebirth. This is one of the best Cd’s Los Lobos has dropped to date. IT makes me wanna dance!
It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Sabor A Mi is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Let’s Say Goodnight (Live) is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Still going through Just Another Band From East L.A.: A Collection (CD 1) and coming to appreciate Anselma more and more with every listen. Will The Wolf Survive is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Los Lobos has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. I Got To Let You Know (Live) is beautiful, yet underrated track. Don’t Worry Baby is outstanding work of Los Lobos. One Time One Night is a very catchy tune. Shakin’ Shakin’ Shakes - A classic Los Lobos track. River Of Fools (Live) - This one is lively and fun. In Carabina 30-30 (Live) it becomes nowhere more obvious that Los Lobos has yet to define own style. Tears Of God is one of the best records ever. Set Me Free (Rosa Lee) - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Don’t judge Bamba on the first listening. Gusto hits the heart. Los Lobos sings his heart out in Estoy Sentado Aqui. A fantastic track full of wonder. Los Lobos must have run out of lyrics on the next track I Wanna Be Like You (The Monkey Song; From Jungle Book).
