There is so much to love about Metal - Various Artists, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Metal - Various Artists energies, virtually a rebirth. Benediction - Slatanic Slaughter II (Tribute) isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Benediction - Slatanic Slaughter II (Tribute).
Necrophiliac (Benediction) is probably one of Metal - Various Artists’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Epidemic (Coffin Man) has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Metal - Various Artists’s strong vocals come to the fore. Hell Awaits (Cradle Of Filth) is the album’s biggest hit, I think. This track is a great song that still never gets old. In Angel Of Death (Liers In Wait) Metal - Various Artists spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Chemical Warfare (Luciferion) is the albums biggest surprise. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Die By The Sword (Necrophobic) is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Praise Of Death (Sinister) as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Silent Scream (Vader) because the melody in the chorus is so good.
