Michel Sardou’s debut, ‘Bercy 93′, does not fit easily into one genre. Bercy 93 carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Michel Sardou on ‘Il Etait La (Le Fauteuil)’. Exciting stuff.
Afrique Adieu is one of my favorite songs by Michel Sardou. Ma Memoire Et Mourir De Plaisir is Michel Sardou’s best work in years. I loved J’accuse the first time I heard it. Voice of Michel Sardou in Marie Jeanne is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Le Privilege is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. 1965 is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. After few listenings I started to like 55 Jours 55 Nuits more and more. Album opener Etre Une Femme is a bright, upbeat ditty. Le Bac G I just LOVE this mix! Divorce A L’amitie (3:51) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. La Vieille gives taste of what makes Michel Sardou special as a musician. Mefie Toi On T’aime is one of the more up-tempo songs on Bercy 93. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. This song stands out greatly from the others. Les Lacs Du Connemara - Okay, I just talked about depth. L’an Mil is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. As always, Michel Sardou’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Aujourd’hui Peut Etre - A classic Michel Sardou track. Etre Et Ne Pas Avoir Ete (Version Studio) is a medium tempo tune.
