This -song debut EP shows the promise that Mike Patton has. fifteen years ago, Mike Patton briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “I Killed Him Like a Dog…And He Still Laughed”. Since Mike Patton last CD (Adult Themes For Voice) on Blue Note Records back in 1996, I have felt a massive void in my life. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Adult Themes For Voice.
I Killed Him Like a Dog…And He Still Laughed which is my favorite is a truly Mike Patton sounding song. Smog make listening to Mike Patton like being in some sort of time warp. A unique and uplifting song. Robot Sex (Neon) has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Screams Of The Asteroid as a highlight of Adult Themes For Voice contains a ton of marvelous melodies. Robot Sex (B - W) - I like this one. Porno Holocaust - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Song Inconsolable Widows In Search Of Distraction is actually a funny song. - Hurry Up and Kill Me…I’m Cold - marked the continuation of Mike Patton in style evolution. Man Alone In Steambath is one of the best records ever. When I listen to Guinea Pig 1 in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Guinea Pig 2 is a very catchy tune. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Guinea Pig 4 is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. A Woman With The Skin Of The Moon is almost impossible to review. A Lizard With The Skin Of Woman is marvelous and different song. Catheter is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. - Fix It So The Bruises Don’t Show - is the funkiest number on the album. I love the melodic melody of Robot Sex (Watercolors) and to this day it makes me feel good. A Ceremony Of Senses, An Alibi In The Red Light Distric - A classic Mike Patton track. Butterfly In A Glass Maze is absolutely incredible. Pajama Party Horror is outstanding work of Mike Patton. Strong, powerful vocals of Mike Patton in A Leper With The Face Of A Baby Girl are very impressive. Lyrics of The One Armed VS. 9 Killers are precise and evocative. Pillow Biter is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. I hope to keep hearing Mike Patton works for a long time to come. Album opener Violence^5 is a bright, upbeat ditty. Red Mouth, Black Orgasm one is one of the better boring ones. All of songs on Adult Themes For Voice and have something to say letting alone Wuxiapian Fantastique. A Smile, A Slap In The Face, A Fart, A Kiss On The Mout - a classic song. Private Lessons On Planet Eros is a very catchy tune. Pneumonia With Complications is one of the more up-tempo songs on Adult Themes For Voice. Orgy In Reverb (10 Kilometers Of Lust) is worth the money.
