This album has some very good songs like Frankie Albert and Talkin Casey. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Mississipi John Hurt energies, virtually a rebirth. Mississipi John Hurt was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Mississipi John Hurt and Coffee Blues together. This is my first Mississipi John Hurt Album and i must say i am blown away.
Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Coffee Blues is Talkin Casey. You have to get essence of the Trouble I Had All My Day’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Coffee Blues was the first single release from the album Coffee Blues. Hard Time In Old Town Tonight is one of my favorite songs by Mississipi John Hurt. Nice and different song. This track is clearly meant to showcase Mississipi John Hurt’s vocal abilities. Spike Driver Blues - A classic Mississipi John Hurt track. Rick Woman Blues is almost impossible to review. Monday Morning Blues is one of these floating songs.
