This is one of the best Cd’s Momus has dropped to date. This disc has all of the essential Momus classics. It has been ten years Momus’ last studio CD, “Tender Pervert” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Check it every song is worth the money for the Tender Pervert CD!
Momus sings Love on Ice in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. I Was a Maoist Intellectual is the song that really did it for me. In Homosexual you won’t find any flashy solos. Within the first few notes of Bishonen it’s perfectly clear that Momus is living this song. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Momus breathes new life into the music in Complete History of Sexual Jealousy (Pts 17-24). Opening track Ice King shows the best of Momus. In the Sanatorium is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. After you’ve listened to Charm of Innocence, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Angels Are Voyeurs (Reprise) is pretty funky and mellow.
