Lead single “Night” and “Migration” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Now signed to Nick Parkin’s Sparrow Records, the title track from second album “Descent” leads Nick Parkin’s back-to-school campaign. It has been four years Nick Parkin’ last studio CD, “Descent” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Exciting stuff.
Migration is the more seemingly obscure song on Descent that bear up best to repeated listening. The sound in Shoals is really warm and Nick Parkin’s signature voice is still very much present. Dusk Crossing (10:39) - awsome. Such hits like Snake Hymn will leave you hooked. Underworld is just simply stunning. Overall a nice softer song. Etheric Memory is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. I’ve found myself listening to Passage back to back and back many times.
