Since Ole Erling last CD (Evergreens 2) on Blue Note Records back in 1994, I have felt a massive void in my life. On Evergreens 2 album, Ole Erling have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Evergreens 2 carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. IT makes me wanna dance!
Anushka/Kalinka is worth the money. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Nice and different song. Goodbye My Love, Goodbye is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. I’ll Never Fall In Love Again is the first taste of the new album. Mame can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Ole Erling is all about. Mister Sandman/I Love Paris/Mack The Knife is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. After you’ve listened to Moon River/Fly Me To The Moon, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. More is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Ole Erling has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. A unique and uplifting song. The Entertainer - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Only one song from Evergreens 2 named The Sound Of Music/Maria/Strangers In The Night really got me. The Way You Look Tonight/Pennies From Heaven/I Can’t Give You Anything But Love is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Ole Erling ever produced.
