I am not a real Ethnic music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Gypsy Fire’ really is amazing. For older fans Gypsy Fire will put a massive smile accross your face. Lead single “Rompi Rompi” and “Nihavent” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. If I may, I suggest “Rompi Rompi”. That one song is amazing!
Within the first few notes of Nihavent it’s perfectly clear that Omar Faruk Tekkbilek and Richard A. Hagopian is living this song. Musically Ustemem Babacim is superior to other tracks in Gypsy Fire. No Omar Faruk Tekkbilek and Richard A. Hagopian song has come close to capturing my attention as Kadife did. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Muhabbet, which shows, blatantly, how much Omar Faruk Tekkbilek and Richard A. Hagopian has evolved as a singer. Blew our minds when we first heard Minoush. Fincan was the first single release from the album Gypsy Fire. Konyali still maintains something of a specific flourish. Beledy is the amazing blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Siseler - This one is lively and fun.
