This nine-song debut EP shows the promise that Ozric Tentacles has. Ozric Tentacles’s debut, ‘Arborescence’, does not fit easily into one genre. I am not a real Alternative music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Arborescence’ really is amazing. Arborescence touched my soul like nothing else.
Yog-Bar-Og is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Arborescence is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Ozric Tentacles. Dance Of The Loomi is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Myriapod is another favourite of mine. After few listenings I started to like There’s A Planet Here more and more. Ozric Tentacles breathes new life into the music in Shima Koto.
