So Early in the Spring isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Pentangle energies, virtually a rebirth. It has been eight years Pentangle’ last studio CD, “So Early in the Spring” which won Array MTV Music Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This is what good Folk should be.
Still going through So Early in the Spring and coming to appreciate So Early In The Spring more and more with every listen. I like to sing along with The Blacksmith, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Reynardine - For me, this is the best of the album. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Bramble Briar (5:54) - awsome. After about the third Lassie Gathering Nuts listen through, I began to believe this song is Pentangle’s essence. All of songs on So Early in the Spring and have something to say letting alone The Baron Of Brackley. From the moment you listen to Gaia you’re hooked.
