This eleven-song debut EP shows the promise that Popa Chubby has. Lead single “Money” and “Stoop Down Baby” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. After seeing Money, I had to have a good Popa Chubby cd. Enjoy the show.
Listening to Stoop Down Baby you can hear that Popa Chubby has still amazing chemistry with band members. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Feel My Eyes On You can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Popa Chubby is all about. Although Let The Jam Begin is very melodic it is far from sad. This song may be the most meaningful. Lipservice is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. The sound in Handyman is really warm and Popa Chubby’s signature voice is still very much present. Popa Chubby must have run out of lyrics on the next track I Love Your Shoes. I Can’t Stand It Baby is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day.
