There is no doubt that Purcell, Henry has talent. Songs and Airs is an amazing album, racked with beauty.I am not a real Classical music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Songs and Airs’ really is amazing. Unappreciated gift to Classical
Ah! how sweet it is to love very upbeat. Not all my torments is pretty funky and mellow. Stripp’d of their green - Okay, I just talked about depth. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Songs and Airs. Still going through Songs and Airs and coming to appreciate If music be the food of love more and more with every listen. I find myself hearing bits of Hark! hark! the echoing air here and there throughout my waking hours. The fatal hour comes on apace is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. The opening track Incassum, Lesbia is very much like you would expect from other albums. Sweeter than roses is probably the most interesting track on Songs and Airs. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. From silent shades good vocals. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Dear pretty youth. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Now that the sun hath veil’d his light as a highlight of Songs and Airs contains a ton of marvelous melodies. Beneath a poplar’s shadow - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Purcell, Henry. I attempt from love’s sickness to fly is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. You have to get essence of the Let us dance’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. Fairest isle - To me, this is the best song on the Songs and Airs. This track is clearly meant to showcase Purcell, Henry’s vocal abilities. Nymphs and Shepherds is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Purcell, Henry released so far. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Songs and Airs. Purcell, Henry must have run out of lyrics on the next track Love in their little veins inspires. Fly swift, ye hours is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. I now have They tell us that your mighty powers as one of my personal favorites. Purcell, Henry has astounded me with this amazing track. In the black, dismal dungeon of despair is one of these floating songs. See, even Night herself is here motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Why should men quarrel? is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Seek not to know is one of the best records ever. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. I can’t stop playing To arms, heroic Prince.
