EP isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Red Flag on ‘Illumination’. Since Red Flag last CD (EP) on Blue Note Records back in 1996, I have felt a massive void in my life. To me Red Flag is the best band ever.
Deeper Shade Of Blue is outstanding work of Red Flag. There is excellent mix of music in I Remember. Some call Time from EP as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Deeper Shade Of Blue (extended…) is simple, dignified and effective, Red Flag refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. I Remember (extended) is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Illumination (something mix) - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Once I Remember (amnesia mix) gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. This track is just fantastic from start to finish.
